The South African Human Rights Commission has compiled a guide about accessing information under PAIA. You can find this guide on the Information Regulator’s website. You can also request a copy of this guide from MVA’s Information Officer.

Notice and Records Available:

MVA has not published a notice as required by Section 52(2) of PAIA. The company maintains records related to various laws and regulations, including tax, employment, legal practice, etc.

Application Process:

To request access to information, complete the application form and send it to MVA’s Information Officer. Include details about yourself and the information you’re seeking. The Information Officer will respond within 30 days, and you’ll be notified if access is granted or denied.

Protection of Personal Information:

MVA follows the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and ensures that personal information is secured and managed correctly.

Fees:

A fee of R50.00 is required for information requests. Payment proof should accompany the application form. No fees apply for requests regarding your own information.

Refusal Grounds:

MVA may refuse access for privacy, commercial interests, safety, legal privilege, and more.

Remedies for Refusals:

If your request is refused, you can submit a complaint to the Information Regulator or apply to a court for relief.

Availability of Manual:

This manual is available on MVA’s website and can be inspected at their main office during business hours.

Validity and Document Management:

This document is valid from 12 August 2023. The Information Officer/Practice Manager are responsible for reviewing and updating it annually. The MVA Management approves policies.
