We live in truly extraordinary times as incidences of Covid-19 infections have spread globally.
The virus has reached South Africa, and more and more people are getting infected.
The President declared a National Emergency to stop the spread of the Coronavirus.
These measures will undoubtedly hurt our already fragile economy, and it is crucial for all businesses, including Law Firms, to plan for as much business continuity as possible.
We fully support the President’s action plan to keep South Africa safe.
Martin Vermaak Attorneys remains open for business, and we are reacting proactively to manage this challenge.
Many of our staff members are working from home. We have ensured that we have increased our already high standards of hygiene, and we have hand wash/sanitiser available in our boardrooms.
We clean our boardrooms before and after each consultation.
We trained our staff to stay safe and to keep safe all of our clients who visit us.
We also ask our current and prospective clients to inform us if they have recently travelled overseas. If you are ill, we ask that we instead consult via Skype or other electronic means.
Nobody knows how long these drastic restrictions will be in place.
It is essential for all of us that we carry on working and that we remain productive.
We do not want the economy to weaken further, as this will affect all of us in the long term.
